Lake House

This remote site overlooks one of the most beautiful lakes in the west of Ireland. The land is typically flat sloping towards the water and rising to the rear and bounded on three sides by agricultural field parcels separated with hedgerows.

The design comprises of 3 monopitched forms creating an ‘H’ shape layout, with the kitchen and living spaces at the heart of the dwelling.

Completely cladded in burnt timber the forms marry together with a shuttered concrete fireplace as the central focal point. Large expanses of glazing connect the internal and external areas, encapsulating the incredible views over the water to the scenic mountains beyond.
