Grillagh Water House
Located on the banks of the Grillagh River and the historic picturesque Drumnaph Woodland, this award winning bespoke dwelling is unlike any other house that has ever been designed and constructed within rural Northern Ireland.
The primary structure is made of four 45ft shipping containers, merged together to form two large daring cantilever forms. The containers are cloaked with a dark grey coloured expanded metal to the top with a natural corten steel cladding to the lower.
The home has been orientated to maximise views out over the landscape and creates inside outside living using large sliding doors to an external patio and chimney providing a functional family dwelling on the farm.
This creates a sculptural form which marries beautifully into its rural setting.
Please note – if you are thinking of creating a dwelling from shipping containers, we would advise you speak to a mortgage advisor or lending agent prior to making any enquiries.
