Blarney Pavilion

In rural Blarney this site presented with a very challenging topography, a steep rise in contours front to back. Bounded by mature vegetation the dwelling achieves views over woodlands, nearby valley, and surrounding countryside.

The design is predominately a simple rectilinear form, creating a contemporary pavilion that appears to float on the landscape. Large expanses of double volume glazing provide for visual and physical connections to the outside.

The materials employed are local to the area, a natural stone base hunkers the rendered pavilion into the landscape.
