A vernacular house on the hill
This dwelling took a traditional contemporary style of a simple L shaped formation based around the sun orientation ensuring all the main living spaces had a plethora of sunlight seamlessly blurring the inside and outside areas.
The palette of materials was kept to a minimum using white render and stone. The front entrance is a double height glazed link between the two blocks with a step in the ridge line to define the entrance. The use of slates to the roof is traditional with modern square chimneys to emanate the contemporary architecture.
This traditional meets contemporary approach will secure the design from dating and blend into the rural countryside.
